Sarah Kosmatak the TMRC Novice Head Coach.
I am currently attending the University of Toledo.
I started out under general studies, but finally decided to pursue a master's degree in
physical therapy. I have always been active in sports such as volleyball, gymnastics, cross country and track.
I graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 2000. I was on the gymnastics team for two years with an
eight year background in the sport. I also ran track the spring of my freshman year.
The rowing program at NDA
began the winter of my sophomore year, and I knew that was the sport for me. I was heavily involved in high school
for the fall and spring seasons, as well as winter and summer conditioning up until I graduated.
During competition, I rowed in the Lightweight 8, Varsity 8-A and B boat, and Varsity 4- A boat. I
experienced the NDA program that started out with nothing , borrowing equipment from St. John's
club, and having two high school seniors coaching the team during the first season of competition, to the
NDA program which is now a very successful program. I have also experienced rowing against
other colleges because I was involved on the University of Toledo's Rowing Club for two fall
seasons. I continue to row on my own, and I spend my time sculling either in a single or a double.
I recently received my Level
1 coaching certificate and eventually plan on getting the Level 2 and 3 certifications as well. I am also CPR and
First Aid trained. I began coaching Toledo Metropolitan Rowing Club in Fall 2002. |
